Assateague in April

If Friday and Saturday weren’t good enough, we made the weekend even better yesterday. We headed to Assateague Island for our monthly check-in. The weather was absolutely gorgeous!

The Assateague ponies are so awesome. There was one as we came on to the island, and two racing down the beach. There was also a pelican, which always reminds me of Finding Nemo. I also always think it is cool that Ocean City, MD looks so close but in reality is pretty far away haha.

We got about a two mile walk in before heading home. It was a great addition to our monthly trip to the shore Smile

Keep coming back every month and you’ll see more for sure! Smile I just can’t wait until I can get in a swim while we are there. The water was only about 50 degrees, and I am definitely not okay with that! haha.

Alright, off to the pool and then off to work! Time to get back into the swing of things!

Weekend Visitors

Hope you had a fantastic weekend! I have a visitor!!

Yes, that would be Rex in Geno’s bed. Rex came to stay a few weeks with Travis and I while my mom and sister are IN HAWAII! Needless to say, I am extremely jealous that they are able to go there! Wish I could have gone along!

Before they left on their big adventure, they came to visit here. We made our monthly trip to Assateague Island. Now we have been there in January, February, and March!

Here’s a little peak at our latest visit. This was also Rex’s first time at the beach! He ran away from the waves like a child, and I don’t think he got wet at all! What a wuss!

Rex may not have loved the water, but he did love running on the sand! What a goof! Definitely tuckered him out.

Afterward, we got ice cream (I mean what’s a trip to the beach without ice cream), and Rex was lucky enough to get a lick. Thank goodness the weatherman was wrong because the weather was supposed to be horrible on Saturday and turned out beautiful. Sunday, on the other hand, was a slushy mess. My 6 mile run was inside instead of outside, but at least I got it done!

The rest of Sunday was pretty lame for a holiday. We just relaxed, organized, and watched a Girls marathon before the season finale!

Pretty great weekend overall, and now back to the grind!

Beach Day + Giveaway Winner

I don’t have a full weekend update for you quite yet, but I do have a little bit of one!

Travis and I have made a goal to go to Assateague Island (my favorite place in the world) every month this year. We were engaged there in December, and it has been my family’s vacation spot since I was a toddler. We went there in January when there was snow on the ground, and we got our February visit in yesterday.

It was a really nice February day, which I guess was also a great day for surfing because there were a LOT of them riding waves!

We were pretty happy to see some animals in the bay on our way out! Love my Assateague ponies Smile

It was a GREAT day needless to say! Followed by the Oscars which I always love!

Off to swim practice, and then spending the day in elementary school today! Smile So excited for my first paycheck at the end of the week! It’s been far too long!
