Weekend Holiday Travels

Happy April Fool’s Day!  Any tricks in store for you? Travis and I have to unfortunately head back to Salisbury today, which means we have 6 hours of driving in store. Sad smile

Here’s a little bit about what Travis and I did since Wednesday.

First, we visited his family for a night in York.  We didn’t do much other than just hang out, but we did get the cutest Easter basket ever, filled with some candy and gift cards, too!

On Thursday, we headed to my family in Pittsburgh.  Most of Thursday and Friday was spent running wedding-related errands, but we also stopped by Elite Runners and Walkers because I had won a free shirt through fundraising efforts.  Also, I am going back there today to get my gait and such analyzed.  I didn’t have enough time on Friday but we are going to go before we drive back home today.

The store is also a bike store attached which is awesome. One stop triathlon shop.

On Saturday, we headed into North Park for the Just a Short Run series.  My sister and Travis ran the 5k while I walked with my parents and some family friends.  Not only did I have pains in my heels, but I also wasn’t feeling 100%.  I spent the rest of the day laying on the couch eating soup with little to no voice and energy.

I was SO excited to see Allie before the race! And I watched her run past during her half marathon.  I also chatted it up with her awesome mom and sister, and Jimmy, too! So excited to have finally gotten to meet her considering our families live pretty close!! Wish I was around more to hang out Smile

Go, Allie, go!

Sunday, we got our shared Easter basket, and my sister, Travis and I picked out what we wanted.  I will admit, I ate a LOT of candy this weekend.

My sister and I also got a picture in front of the same couch as the photo from yesterday, 21 years later! Yes, we still have the couch.

We spent Easter with my dad’s aunt, uncle, and cousins from Ohio. I love seeing my family since I never see them anymore!

I also got to see this adorable canine, Scout! She is HUGE! You may remember when I first met her.  Definitely not that small anymore!

Minus the whole being sick thing, it was a pretty great time spent with family.  Too bad I didn’t get to see many friends! Hoping to get home again soon Smile

If you want more from me, head over to The Event Crashers to read a little about my wedding planning.  There will be more wedding related posting soon!

Hope you all day a great holiday weekend! Anyone else not ready to have to get back into the swing of things?

Countdown

You know what gets me through my days?

Having things to look forward to!

Yesterday, I had Les Mis to look forward to.  And yes, I may watch it again today. LOVE that movie. Looking forward to our pictures tomorrow, too! Hoping the weather holds up!

Other than little day to day things, I have a few bigger things to look forward to.  Here’s what I have to keep me sane:

- 3 more days of school until Easter Break and going home to see my family.  This also means I can have Diet Dr. Pepper in approximately one week.  I don’t fully intend on drinking much soda now that I cut it out for Lent, but geez, I just need one fizzy soda ASAP.  I miss the bubbles! This is the only picture I can find of Travis and I and Easter.  This is from ‘09, I think?

- 7 more days until I do a 5k with my family and close family friends

- 8 days until Easter! Yay!

- 21 days until I go to New York City with my sister to see Once.  My sister and I take a trip to NYC every year.  Sometimes, we stay a weekend, but like this year, sometimes we just go for a day!   I am so excited for Once because it won best musical at the Tony’s and because Steve Kazee is pretty freaking fantastic.

- 23 days until I see the (second) love of my life, Andrew McMahon, once again in concert.  Yes, this will be the 8th time.

- 43 days until the half marathon that I just hope to complete at this point.  Definitely not setting my sights for the 2:09 that I had two years ago at this race.  Most likely will walk a lot of it, unless my body decides to switch gears one of these days.

- 50ish days of school until summer vacation Smile

What do you have to look forward to?

Fly, Friday, Fly!

My request for today: GO REALLY, REALLY FAST!!!!

I would love if today flew by.  My mom and sister are going to be here tonight and I am looking forward to having some company other than Travis.  Don’t get me wrong, Travis and I get along just fine, but a change of pace is always welcomed, especially since my mom’s the last one to still have to see our place! Too bad it’s supposed to rain tomorrow; I want to take my mom, sister, and Rexy to the beach!

I’ve just got a random mind post for you today.  Let’s start with the awesome package I got in the mail from winning Ali’s giveaway.  So excited to start experimenting with the flavors. I’ve already added peppermint to green pancakes, and Travis and I feel like they taste like shamrock shakes!

Let’s move on to the random dinner I had last night.  Jennie-O Jalapeno Jack turger burger and a peas/applesauce/cinnamon combo.  I love veggies + applesauce. Smile

Another random thing.  I’ve had this song stuck in my head for a solid 3 days, and then I thought about how ironic it is because I am 24! It honestly took me a few days before I realized that I was singing about my own age.  Anyone else forget how old they are for about a month after their birthday?

So this is how it feels to be 24
A thief without a key to an open door
Just peering through the window
For any clue,
Or anything explaining a part of you.

Lastly, I wasn’t going to show this picture because I look like a goon, but I have to so you can see Geno being a nut on the side before I went for a ride.

See him rolling on his back on the right? He’s crazy.

Alright, well I’m off to my last official swim practice before Easter.  Since I swim on a team that trains at a university, and because next week is their spring break, we won’t be having practice for a while.  Thankfully I can still swim at my apartment complex if I want, but the pool there is only about 40 feet.

After swim practice, it’s my last day of subbing before my long term starts! YAY!

Do you ever get the same song stuck in your head for days at a time and not even realize what you’re singing??

Exciting weekend plans?
