The Craziness of the Weekend

Since the last time I’ve check in with you all, I’ve done approximately 3 things. 1. Hung out with some friends.  2. Attending a PA blogger meet up at the PA Farm Show thanks to PennAg. 3. Moved to Maryland.

I guess I could add number 4: Sneezed my head off because I am allergic to my own cat. But that’s a different story.

Let me back up, though.  I spend a good bit of time with my friends last week.  I went to get coffee with my friend, Chelsea from home.  And then I had a sleepover with my best friend Melissa and got to see my friend Emma when Melissa and I met her for lunch at Mad Mex.  Here’s me and Melissa…

And my beautiful chicken burrito.

And then Friday was the PennAg blogger meet up – but that totally deserves its own post tomorrow, so stay tuned.

Then came the moving process. Travis and I spend the weekend at his parents’ house, which was nice because I had not seen them since before the holidays!  Travis and I got to Shippensburg to pick up the last of my belongings early Saturday morning, but first went to eat with my Shippensburg family. Got a yummy omelet Smile  And then we stuffed the car to the absolute brim.

Thankfully it all fits in the apartment!

While I was in Shippensburg, I also met up for lunch with my friend Chelsea from school!

Now it’s back to unpacking and organizing.  Hopefully getting everything done today!! And then hopefully getting back into the workout groove.  It’s been about a week since my last workout.  I don’t know what happened to me.  I’ve been spending time with family and friends, and I think that is more important to me because I am now about 6 hours from my family.

Stay tuned for more on the Farm Show tomorrow! Smile

Fill me in on your weekend! I haven’t even checked blogs for a really long time!

Getting Up to Date

I have pretty much been slacking when it comes to blogging and commenting on blogs, and I totally apologize for that.  You’d think I’d be all about spending time on my new computer, but truthfully, life has been more about spending time with family and stressing out about the last month of graduate school.  I will go one more step and say that I’ll probably continue to slacking until at least December 14th, when school is over.  Unless faculty strikes, which could happen considering there is currently not a contract.

Here’s just a quick round-up post for you to fill you in on how I’d been since my fancy ravioli family time Smile

1.  I went to my aunt and uncle’s house to spend time with my family on Thursday.  Cillian adorably chowed down on a turkey leg.

Meanwhile, I chowed down on apple/cranberry crisp and Creamery ice cream.  We had pumpkin and chocolate chip cookie dough! Yum!IMG_1066

2.  I left my family’s Thanksgiving quickly after dessert to drive 4 hours to Trav’s family.  I immediately got wrangled into Black Friday shopping, which I’m not the biggest fan of.  I do all of my shopping online! haha

That’s our shopping group around 4 am after we got back and before some of us heading out to shop again! I am going to blame the fact that I’m closer to the camera as the reason my face is kinda looking large haha.

3.  I signed up for a half Ironman distance triathlon! EEK! It’s not until September 8, 2013, but it’s still crazy nonetheless!

4. I got to spend Friday night visiting with a college roommate, Anna! It was great to see her, catch up around a bonfire, and see her family!

5. I got to spend the weekend with Trav’s family as well as a wonderful addition to their family! They hosted a foreign exchange student from Spain while Travis was in high school, and Carlos came back to visit while he is spending a semester studying in Boston!

Travis, Carlos, and Trav’s brother! It was awesome to spend time with him, and to hear about his first experience watching Honey Boo Boo (eeekkk…).

6.  Can’t forget the good eats at Trav’s!

Shoofly Pie! – DELICIOUS!

Grilled chicken salad from Chili’s – with corn salsa and beans! Amazing!

Alright – it’s back to the grind for three more weeks! At least Hollie is visiting currently! She spent the night last night on her way back to NY, so be prepared for recaps! Smile

Happy Monday! How was your weekend/holiday??

Friends 4 Life

Ok, so I’ve been a little absent from the blog world, and it’s not really with good reason.

This past week, I have become incredibly, fully obsessed with the show Friends.  I mean, I’ve always loved it.  But Friday, I started watched from the pilot episode and can’t stop! Like can’t even stop to read a blog post let alone write one.  And now that classes have started, it’s going to be hard to make it through all 10 seasons, but with a little bit of determination, I think it’s possible! haha

Right now, I am half way through season 2.  And I am loving it.  And I am actually insanely jealous that I don’t have a group of exactly six friends who I can barge into their apartment at any time and just hang with them.  It makes me sad that I live by myself and all of my friends have graduated and left Ship!

I did have my first graduate class of the semester last night, though!! It definitely sounds like it has the potential to be an awesome class.  Basically, the class is to learn about and learn how to prepare students with disabilities to transition to adulthood.  Whether it is transitioning them to a job, post secondary schooling, or just living more independently, we will learn how to effectively program instruction throughout their years (starting at age 14) to help them be most successful in the “real world”.  Sorry to bore you all, but I am fairly excited about it Smile

Yes, that would be my book for class.  Does that make me a huge loser by being obsessed with class and learning? I honestly wish I could be a perpetual student!

Also, I think I may join the Master’s Swim team at the local YMCA.  I miss swimming so much, and I notice it more and more every day.  I really think I need to get involved with it!

That’s really all there is right now.  I know, lame right? My life seems to follow this pattern: wake up, work, work out, watch Friends, go to class, watch Friends, go to sleep.

Which means it is off to work for me to begin the whole thing over again, though today I don’t have class…which means more time for Friends!

Happy Tuesday!

Is anyone else as obsessed with learning as I am??
