Post-Sandy

HAPPY HALLOWEEN! I didn’t dress up this year, but let’s flashback 4 years!

I really and truly help all is well where you are and that Sandy wasn’t horrible for you! If you were one of the ones not so lucky, know that I am thinking of you and praying that everything gets pulled back together soon! What a devastating time for all! I am just so thankful I got out of New York City when I did! A few more hours and we would have not been so fortunate!

So how did I occupy myself during my two days off of work and school thanks to the storm?

Well, I headed to my home away from home while at school to spend time with the family who has been there for me for a few years now!

I wish I could say that I stayed true to my healthy eating that I did really well with last week, but I didn’t.. such is life.  There was Halloween candy (Reese’s nom nom nom), caramel apples, pizza…deliciousness! I guess it was like a mini vacation to me Smile

We did a lot of Pinterest-ing:

Game-playing:

Coffee-drinking:

And being silly:

And after I went home yesterday morning, I did a lot of movie watching:

Can you guess by the picture what movie I finally watched? Avengers – and I loved it! Now I have to watch all of the other ones…

That was only one of the few movies I watched.  And I caught up on some of my shows.  I wasn’t too far behind though since some of my shows were cancelled yesterday during Sandy’s outrage!

Now, things are back to normal for the most part.  Hoping that it stays that way!

How are things holding up for you? Enjoying your week? Looking forward to anything?

JGL Obsessed

So the past few days, it seems as though I’ve come down with some sort of sickness.  I am all stuffy and coughy and sleepy.  Which means I’ve been watching a lot of TV and movies, and not really getting out of bed at all.  Hopefully, this doesn’t screw up my triathlon training TOO much. Eek.

One thing that I may have mentioned on here is how obsessed I am with Joseph-Gordon Levitt.  (500) Days of Summer is amazing, as is Inception, and 10 Things I Hate About You, of course.  Oh, and then there’s 50/50, and 3rd Rock From the Sun…ok, you get the picture.

One cute short that I found of his is entitled Morgan M. Morgansen’s Date With Destiny.  I love the use of descriptive words to take place of a more commonly used word.  It’s pretty cute, and deals with being a vegetarian Smile

The video was from the Sundance Music Festival a few years back, and is also on his website hitRECord. The website is actually a pretty sweet project in which all sorts of regular “Joe” kind of people collaborate on projects of all sorts!

Now I’m off to continue watching movies (of course I am going to choose one with JGL.). I am thinking it’s going to be Hesher.

Stay on the lookout for a weekend update when I am feeling up to it Smile

Night, night folks!

Obsessions

There are certain things that, once I get obsessed with, the obsession goes a long way.

Call me crazy (you wouldn’t be the first), but I love being obsessed with things.  I love having things that make me so super duper happy that nothing can ruin.

Here are things that I am obsessed with.  And these obsessions aren’t things that fade away.  These have been around for too long, and I don’t see them going anywhere soon.

You may know that I am obsessed with Andrew McMahon and Nate Ruess.  I mean, I have both of their early band DVDs and watch them often.

But did you know that I am completed obsessed with Bryan Greenberg? You may remember that he played Jake in One Tree Hill back when I watched it in high school.  That’s where my obsession began, and it hasn’t ended since.  I have some of his movies – the Perfect Score and Prime.  And I recently got hooked on his HBO show “How To Make It In America.”  I have watched a whole season in a day.  That’s also what I did with “Girls” which I watched all of on Monday.  Has anyone else watched either of those shows? And just because he’s so cute, here’s Bryan:

Another one of my obsessions? Going to the movies.  And I get to go to them today with the girls I babysit.  Not sure what we’re seeing yet, but there are some awesome animated ones out right now.  They’re kind of my favorite.  I mean, I can actually quote all of Finding Nemo.  I love going to the movies by myself, with friends, with family.  Basically, if you want to do something with me, your best bet is a movie.  Or food.  Food always wins, too.

And I’d be lying if I said that I’m not completely obsessed with watching swimming.  These Olympics trials have me SO super duper pumped for the Olympics to begin!!! Just watching it gets my heart racing and super excited.  I’ve been totally bummed though because I’ve been working during most trial days.  Luckily, my mom was kind enough to tape them for me to watch while I’m home this weekend Smile. Two of the kids that I coach actually got to go watch the trials! And on Wednesday, they were super close.  The one kid’s picture was caught by James Madison people, and he made it big on the university’s facebook page.  He’s going to be the most popular freshman next year, and I know him!

It’s basically like he’s BFF with Michael. Another one of my obsessions.  I actually have newspapers from each of his Olympics in my drawer in my room.  And they’re definitely not going into the recycling anytime soon.

There you have it.  I get crazy obsessed over things and then people think I am crazy. But I love it. And I don’t care what you think Winking smile

Are you obsessed about anything?
